Model-Based Flow Rate Control with Online Model Parameters Identification in Automatic Pouring Machine

In this study, we proposed an advanced control system for tilting-ladle-type automatic pouring machines in the casting industry. Automatic have been introduced recently to improve working environment of process. conventional study on control, it has confirmed that flow rate contributes improving accuracy entire machine, such as outflow liquid’s falling position from ladle, weight filled mold, and sprue cup’s liquid level. However, problems: is not easy precisely pour ladle with a large tilting angle, takes time adjust parameters. Therefore, feedforward system, constructed by process’ inverse model online parameters identification. approach, derived mathematical model, representing process ladle’s angle. The controller are updated via To verify system’s efficacy, experimented using machine. experimental results, mean absolute error between reference was improved 0.1346 at first 0.0498 fifth pouring. Moreover, were identified within 4 s. enables updating controller’s each motion interval approach.
